Alejandro Jiménez, PhD
Alejandro leads the Water and Sanitation Department. His team provides advice, develops tools and methodologies, and conducts research, trainings and workshops on governance issues, to achieve sustainable and resilient water and sanitation services.
Alejandro joined SIWI in 2013 and also leads the Content Development on water governance for the organization. He has over 15 years of experience working with water governance issues around the world.
Prior to joining SIWI, Alejandro worked for the private sector, for NGOs, and academia, and as consultant for international organizations. He has authored several publications related to water and sanitation governance, resilience, and the implementation of the human rights to water and sanitation.
Alejandro holds a MsC in Civil Engineering, a PhD in rural water governance; he speaks Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese.
