Who receives the 2021 Stockholm Junior Water Prize? On 24 August this will be announced by HRH Crown Princess Victoria. In the same award ceremony, we also get to know who won the hearts of minds of the people when the results of the People’s Choice Award are presented.
The People’s Choice Award was introduced in 2020 and was an immediate success with 26,000 people voting for their favourite candidates. Adittya Kumar Chowdhury and Khaled Iftekhar from Bangladesh became the first winners. To them it meant recognition of their work and a chance to spread the word about their innovative water purification technology. “The People’s Choice Award was the first time one of our projects got support beyond our school, from the whole country,” they said. You can read a longer interview with them here.
