Ragn-Sells supports the bright minds of the future
The donation from Ragn-Sells amounts to SEK 50,000 and is a welcome contribution to the work of Stockholm Junior Water Prize.
Swedish recycling company Ragn-Sells, founder and sponsor of Stockholm Water Prize, has given a substantial Christmas donation to the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, thereby strengthening the support for the bright young minds of the future.
“It is a privilege to have a founder and sponsor as Ragn-Sells who is so committed to helping us at SIWI build a water wise world. We are very grateful for their support to a central part of our work – encouraging the world’s brightest young scientists to work with water and sustainability issues,” says Torgny Holmgren, Executive Director at SIWI.
Since 1997, Stockholm Junior Water Prize has brought together the world’s most imaginative young minds for an outstanding competition in Stockholm. Thousands of participants in over 30 countries join national competitions in the hope of representing their nation at the international final held during the annual World Water Week in Stockholm.
The competition is open to people between the ages of 15 and 20 who have conducted water-related projects of proven environmental, scientific, social or technological significance. H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is Patron of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize.
“One of our strategic focus areas is improved ground- and water environment. We work on our own solutions, but we also want to promote tomorrow’s innovators. By supporting SIWI’s Stockholm Junior Water Prize, we hope to make a small contribution to a world where water is managed in the wisest possible way. Sustainable development is unthinkable without secure and equitable access to water,” says Johan Börje, Head of Marketing at Ragn-Sells.
