2016 Bangladeshi alumnus Bakhtiar gives back to the community
Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2016 alumnus Bakhtiar Zaman Bhuiyan is also part of YES Alumni Bangladesh. This programme consists of scholars from Bangladesh who have successfully completed Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program. The program connects Americans with the youth of predominantly Muslim countries to create a better understanding of cultures between the groups.
Bakhtiar has in line with his water interest together with a team conducted a project focusing on access to safe water on April 29, 2019 in Tejgaon, Dhaka.
The project celebrated the spirit of Global Youth Service Day and Earth Day by addressing the importance of water safety and hygiene. The Alumni team visited a school and trained the students on how to make sustainable and cost effective water filters.
